words_unravelhello boys and girls! i've got my brand new computer (custom-rigged by my dear, computer savvy cousin) and i figured it was about time to do another post...
anyway, i actually wrote this post out, like, 4 days ago during work (heh. working, moi? yeah, right, gotta love it when the boss is gone...yeah, yeah, ima slacker, i know...sheesh), so most of it is in reference to stuff that happened a week ago...oh well...
...and it's probably gonna be long, so i'll try and put most most of it behind lj-cuts...
okay, so i've been without a computer for a little over a week, right? (more like two weeks now), but i have come to one major conclusion: I am a no-holds-barred, twelve-step needing, internet addict. no doubts, no questions. I think it's worse than crack, i'm grumpy, bored and basically lost without my connection to the world wide web and all it has to offer. feh.
and i miss my friends. alot. i miss chatting, just saying hi, rp-ing, everything that i normally do every night with my pals. ugh. ugh. but hey! now i'm back and better than ever and i now have my own system, that's all mine, mine, mine...of course, i spent my tax return on the computer instead of the complete GW collection that i was going to get, but oh well, i now have a line on that that hopefully i can afford before next year, lol...
So, you ask, what have i been up to in the interim? ('kay, maybe you don't ask, but i'm tellin ya anyway)...well, i have watched so much stinkin' anime that my cousin comes through the living room calling me professor anime,which, truth be told, is just fiiiiiine by me, lol...
where have i come into possession of such lovely amounts of anime goodness? aaah, well, one is an anime store which has opened up here in the lovely city of tulsa and has very big plans for expansion (that i plan to offer my services up in any form and fashion i can, of course) and second, i recently joined rentanime.com, similar to netflix but with anime (*sob* so...happy...)
and so, i have expanded my list of viewed anime (not by much, but hopefully it will be continual) and now the rest of this is commentary on what i have seen so far...and well other random observations and such that happened in the last week or so...like i said, loooong post...
COWBOY BEBOP: THE MOVIE
i absolutely love the intro to this movie, the black and white street scenes, the every-so-often flash of one of the people saying a line to the opening song, just...dude. love it. and the final shot with the up-shot of spike (whom i absolutely adore as well)? much love.
oh yeah, the other thing i really like about this movie? the fight scenes. of course, that's true of all the fight scenes in CB, i just adore them. the one at the end of the move is one of my all time favorite hand-to-hand scenes...*sigh*...i love you Spike, truly i do...
ROROUNI KENSHIN
heh. heh. last saturday's ep of RK had one the ultimate crack-my-ass-up scenes i've seen yet in the series...it's the one near the end where Yahiko is fighting the bad guy again (dude, this guy just doesn't give up, ne? he's made mad money as a businessman and still wants to ruin Kenshin...dude...just let it go already...)anyway, back to the funny...
Yahiko is fighting, there's a sword-to-sword standoff, he's remembering the lessons he's learned, and he pulls this move where the end point is him kneeing the bad guy in the balls...heh. heh. first you see the guy's face (oh my, that must hurt, ne?) and then you see a quick cut to two jingle bells, one gives a slight ring and falls off, then you see a hammer coming down on a walnet...all this to let you know what just happened...shit, i laughed so hard, it's a good thing i wasn't drinking at the time...
it's little things like that, that totally make anime such a wonderful experience for me...damn, but i don't start giggling again when i think about it...
FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST
dude. episode 15 of FMA, "The Ishball Massacre"? hands down, the best damn episode of the show yet, in my honest opinion...Edward and Alphonse...man...i cried, i admit it.
the VA for Alphonse (Aaron Dismuke, i learned from February's issue of NewTypeUSA...which i cannot live without, btw) is just so damn spot-on it makes me sick (or worse, cry like on saturday)...Gods, at the end when he's tearing his brother Ed a new one, you can just feel how pissed he is that his brother would let himself be killed to protect his brother, but you also hear how damn terrified he was that it nearly came true...shit...it was probably some of the best acting i've ever seen, movies or anime...man, my heart just ached for them both...
ooh. ooh. the backstory on Mustang and Marco. de-lish, loved seeing where they came from, why Mustang is doing what he's doing...and the shocker at the end. huh. which if i had been trying to figure stuff out, i could have guessed, but i was too busy reacting to everything with this episode...
damn. this anime just friggin' ROCKS. hard core.
NARUTO
woo-hoo! this one is just plain stinkin' addictive, lemme tell ya!
so i finally started this anime, subbed of course, since it just got licensed (the crowd: "Yaaaay!!!") ...heh. subtitles are great *giggle*...anyway, onwards...
even with me rewording every subbed line in my head, i was totally hooked on this show within 5 minutes, probably less actually...but it's just so...aagh...Naruto coming into his own, Sasuke (guh.) is just so damned intense (can you tell i really like the quiet, driven type?)...Sakura...well, i'm holding out for some more character development there...
anyway, i only got the first two discs which means, of course, that i have been left hanging at the end of the episode where Sasuke's just...eep, you know...and Naruto's so pissed off, the fox thingy comes out to play, and....yeah. that's where i am. *growl* and the stupid person who rented it still hasn't brought it back...
oh, but it's just so perfect, Naruto waking up to find Sasuke protecting him (squee!) and then yelling at him...lol...just so, i dunno, Sasuke's not even really sure why he's protecting someonehe doesn't even like, really, and oh my, i just can see these characters are gonna grow so much...me gives it much love, definitely...
ooooh, and don't even get me started on Iruka and Kakashi-san...*goofy grin*...

well, i've wanted to see this ever since ToxicTattoo posted pics of Bear Walken (who is decidely nummy for an older character...) and man, this is a pretty cool anime. lotsa violence, lotsa bullets flying, you know the drill...plus i'm a sucker for a show that starts you in the present then for the several episodes takes you to the past (yet another reason to adore FMA, btw)...and boy, this boy's past?...wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy...geez, ep 3 "Rain", the final few minutes...sheesh...
definitely want more of this one...
ANGEL SANCTUARY
hmmm, what can i say? a little incest, a little crazy angel here and there, a really sexy immortal who wants to be human...heh. i like that last one actually....
so far, i've only seen the first disc which incidentally, i saw all those eps at yaoi-con...haven't really made up my mind, i don't care for the VA who does the main character, but like i said, Akira damn hot enough to make up for that...geez, i'm so bishonen-whipped...
PEACEMAKER
um...not really much to say, haven't watched it yet...all that's left is to hit the play button on the DVD but since it's Adult Swim night, that won't be happening just yet...but i do have to say, i've really, really been looking forward to this one...hope it doesn't disappoint...

well, actually this is the last one, promise...
so the anime store i go to has viewings on saturdays at noon, right? well, today we started watching Love Hina, one i've never seen before...oh my god, this thing is stinkin' hilarious...poor Kaiteru...nothing goes his way and he spends most of his time being a punching bag, lol...i adored the four episodes i watched today and look forward to watching the rest soon...
highly recommended...although if you're a die-hard anime fan, you've prolly already seen it a zillion times...
so, that it, that's what i've been up to for the last week or so...
okay, that and sneaking peaks at YD at work (not recommended, being horny and at work just doesn't mix well...*sigh*)...trying to stay caught up with GWaddiction BBS cuz i swear Utopia is trying to kill me with laughter and Freeport just effin' rocks my socks. dude. i wanna be able to create like that...
anyway...other news....hmmm...well, i've lost ten pounds so far and can now jog for thirty minutes straight...and my second time at yoga kicked my ass just as soundly as the first time...but it also had me bouncing off the walls for the next ten hours, too...man, i love yoga...
okay, so i've now spent over an hour writing up this entry and i'm tired (not really, i just wanna go watch toonami and AS cuz it's saturday!!!)...happy (very) to be back, yak atcha laters!

3. Yay for new anime store! You should get a part time job there, so you get an employee discount. If business is slow, you can watch all the anime you want (so you can advise customers and know what you're talking about... yeah, that's it, lol). I can't believe I'm the first person to comment. Don't tell me I'm the closest thing to an otaku-pal you've got on your flist.
I didn't know that Angel Sanctuary is an anime. I've got it on my manga list (mmm... incest...angels....), but haven't gotten it yet. Is the anime on Cartoon Network?
You're gonna love the rest of Naruto; we've got up through disc ten, and are very happy with it. I was concerned at first, afraid it would be all silly and stupid like Ranma 1/2, but it's an excellent investment. Naruto does have funny parts, but also drama and great fights. Can't tell you how many times I've cried watching that show. Aren't the subtitles a riot? I'm not complaining too much, I've seen much worse!
I've only been watching Kenshin in bits and pieces, but god I love the beginning song! Didja see the one at the hot springs? >.< I think it's called "Getting Back the Reverse Blade Sword". I just love Kenshin, in all his guises and moods.
No comment on Cowboy Bebop; watched a few episodes and just didn't get into it. Is that some sort of sacrilege, considering how popular it is?
Been meaning to start recording FMA, but just haven't. I know how much you love it, and some of our friends do too (they've got the dvd). Guess it'd be a good time to stop on Trigun and some of the other old animes from Adult Swim. Oooh! I read a nice little brother fic of Ed and Al last week if you're interested.
I just got Skyscrapers recently too! Though it wasn't all that, compared to the glowing reviews. Yes it was good, no it wasn't the best ever.
I might have to look into the rentanime thingie.
4. Yaoi Daily is both a blessing and a curse. Nuff said. Unless you ask for details.
I just read Freeport last week, and dang, that is a pretty good fic, but I've been meaning to email the author to offer my opinion, since she did ask. :D
