I don't understand why people would delete their fic when they leave the fandom anyway. I mean, I've got fic from so many fandoms I'm not even kind of a part of anymore up in my LJ. I've never understood the locking/deleting thing.

the only time i've really, really understood it is when they're becoming published authors and by contract aren't supposed to have other stuff out there (or something). other than that, idek. i mean some people are embarrassed by their early stuff, but i usually just have the 'hey! look at how i've grown!' mind-set.
