a few quick thoughts on FaD...

I've listened to it a couple times through, but this morning on the way to work it was different. FTR, I have a little Honda Fit and today, after 2 days of ice-covered roads, I drove to work in this really ugly, soggy fog. It's darker than normal and I've got FaD blaring through the speakers, and.

*This albums sounds so fuckin' huge, you guys. Seriously, it just wrapped itself around me in my little car and it's just kind of larger than life (heh).

*If IoH was their ode to R&B, then FaD is a bow-down to the massive sound of 80s arena rock. Which, I am woman enough to admit, I adored. HUUUUUUUUUGE.

*The content is so different, but so totally Pete (horseshoe crabs, Pete? really?). But it's still got those lines that just hit me hard. Ugh, Pete, thanks.

*that being said, mostly I was like this:

PATRICKVAUGHNSTUMP. PATRICK'S VOICE. OMGDOMENOWNOWNOWNOW. HEATWAAAAAAAAAAAVEINMYPANTS. OMGNOW, PSTUMP, NOW. OHAI, BDEN! PATRIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK.

...yeah, I'm not proud nor subtle apparently. But Jesus, PStump using his whole fuckin' range makes me want to writhe on the ground in a dirty, dirty way. Or writhe on Patrick which is, admittedly, a little creepy. As long as I never tell him that if I ever meet him face to face, we'll be okay, right?

Not that I'll probably be able to speak if that happens. *sigh*

All I gotta say is just keep listening.

I spent all day walking around downtown Chicago and listening to this record. Patrick's voice! One of my friends compared it to The Black Parade, where it's just so massive in scope.
